Chorda would like to take a look around and see if there is a holonet transmitter in the bar, thinking that he might be able to hack nearby broadcast signals and pick up traffic on possible bounties they might quickly grab for creds, or maybe even info on locations of Jax.

As some of the group starts to make inquiries, Nimm makes his way to the bar and says to the person behind it, "I am looking for work, because I need to find someone and bribing people seems the most effective way. Doesn't matter what if the credits are there. You probably hear a lot in your occupation, so do you know of anyone hiring?" Someone's always hiring, but by the look of your associates, you're probably capable of more than lifting crates at the loading docks. He nonchalantly slides a matchbook to you with a drink. It seems to be from a jazz club in the entertainment district. Inside, the name Fritz is written.

As the group starts to drift away from the table Pixis turns his gaze to take in the crowd. In the corner he spots a Twi'lek woman who appears to be "working" the room. He tosses back the rest of his drink and makes his way toward her. He waits for her as she moves away from a table, her gaze gliding past him Pixis winks, nods and says, "You know where a guy could find a little action around here?""I'm not sure you can handle, let alone afford, this action." She gives you a sly grin as she slowly uncrosses and crosses her legs. "What brings you into this joint. You aren't a regular."

The Holonet has been locked down since the Imperial takeover, at least for civilian uses. A local terminal does list a handful of bounties along with some heavy handed imperial propaganda (let me know if you want info on these). You likely couldn't track a ship from a public terminal, but access to the computers at the docks might be enough.

The Holonet has been locked down since the Imperial takeover, at least for civilian uses. Chorda narrows his eyes, cracks his knuckles, and whispers "Skak..." before whipping out his datapad and attempting to jack it into the holonet. The Empire must have this thing on lock down for a reason... He yanks out the data cord, adjusts a few nobs on his pack to modulate to Imperial tech, and flips on the hacked (and only sometimes working) decoder that he found in a salvage yard.

Pixis smiles his roguish smile, gaze lingering on all the right places. "Well Darlin' you may be right on both counts but what I need tonight won't cause either one of us to break a sweat. I'm trying to track down a friend of mine maybe you heard of him, Jax Richert ? If I can find him I certainly be able to afford your company whether or not I could handle it, well we'll have to see."

Hacking the holonet would be an epic feat without some serious equipment. It would be 5 purple to try. It's basically military grade encryption at this point. The idea being, limiting communications limits the risk of coordinated opposition.

Nimm enjoys the drink then pays along with a tip adding, "Thanks for the advice. I hope we both can prosper from it." He then makes his way back towards the booth to wait for the others so he can fill them in.

She smiles slyly, "I don't care what we do if the creds are right, talk . . . not. Though a girl like me can't take jobs on spec you know. It's money up front or nothing. 500 and maybe I can point you in the right direction."

He lets out a slow whistle and runs his hand through his hair. Pixis lets his shoulders sag giving the impression of defeat. "Well, I guess I'm stuck with these guys tonight after all." he says waving his hand vaguely in the direction of Chorda and Nimm.

He watches as Pixis and Chorda fail at trying to get something done. He shakes his head and sees that Nimm has gotten lucky and strolls over to him. "What did you find out?"

Nimm passes Brusque the matchbook, "I think we should talk to this person, Fritz. At the very least we can hopefully get some credits. I would like to avoid sleeping in the streets"

Daydream moves into the convo, "well let's get moving then, this place if full of deadbeats." She shoots daggers at the happy couple at the bar.
With her eyes.

The firewall is seriously secure and you realize you'd need a pretty powerful setup to hack in. You think you covered your tracks enough to not trigger a security sweep. You think.
