Something my group has always talked about on the sidelines: RAW vs RAI, which one do you go with? Is it more important to go with the rules as they're written in the book, or is it the concept and idea of the rule that's more important?

Always a sticking point with a group, especially when talking about fair-play.

Something that has been on my mind lately, because I have been buying a lot of new games that are very different to my groups standard D&D, how does the genre of the game effect the way a player plays and how a GM runs it?
Example: A group that is used to playing standard D&D is going to do a pulp Sci-fi game. How does both player, and GM, approach the game so that they get a different experience than their typical D&D game?
Hopefully I'm explaining this right, after rereading it I think I've even confused myself.

I don't remember in wich episode but you talked about trying the Runequest system. Being a player and in love with it I would suggest you to be tempted by his charm. It's a brutal system with a dynamic combat with few hp for body part. The remade edition has just came out but the 6th work as just well
