Would I need a computer check to just jump on the web (if such a thing exists) and pull up public info? Or should I do a check to hack their holonet system and pull up the info?

The Holonet in general is accessible for news (propaganda mostly), bounties, and other general info. You can try to hack in to private databases, darkweb-type pirate radio stations, restricted info, etc. The Holonet is also used for faster than light communications as well, but that would be extremely dangerous since it is uber restricted.

Now I'm wishing I'd put that point into Underworld instead. I'm thinking that it might be easier to hack into a private server than a hacker database of stolen info... Possibly wirelessly Jack a holonet signal and attempt to hack their server? I've listened to too much Shadowrun lately lol |

I don't think wifi exists in SW. I think it's the original Shadowrun style where you have to jack into a terminal.

There would be Imperial offices around that have bounty boards posted. You could jack in there theoretically. It's rather expensive, so higher end places, trade guilds, perhaps some public venues could have terminals.
